Understanding the Types of Soccer Bets

Soccer betting like other sports betting consists of many different bets. In this guide, I will guide you through these types of betbrain free bets so that you” so that you may be able to bet more profitably.

Match Odds (Money line)

This is also known as 1X2 and it is the easiest and most popular type of soccer bet. It gives you a chance to bet on three different options: home win (1), away win (2), and draw (X).

Let us see an example of this type of bet:

Arsenal: 1.60
Chelsea: 4.80
Draw: 3.25

You have to choose a wager amount first. If you pick wins then you will get bet stake back plus the winnings. In order to calculate your winnings, you have to multiply the odd and the stake.

For example:

You bet $80 on Arsenal at odds of 1.60.

The bookmaker deducts $80 from your online betting wallet.
If Arsenal wins, you get back your $80 stake, plus your winnings ($80 x 1.60) = $128.

The bookie credits your wallet with $208 meaning that you have made a profit of 128.
Note that if you bet on Arsenal and the match ends in a draw or Chelsea wins, you lose the wager.

Single:

This is also known as a straight bet. It is the simplest type of soccer bet. In this type, you only have to pick the correct result from one event in order to win the bet.

This is a type of bet that combines two or more bets. The returns in this type of bet is bigger but come with more risk since every multiple you select will have to win. The most common types of multiples are trebles and doubles.

  • Double: This is made up of two bets and both must win for you to win.
For example, you wage an $80 double bet on Arsenal and Chelsea:
Arsenal 1.60 to beat Man City
    Chelsea 1.58 to beat Portsmouth

If Arsenal and Chelsea both win, you will get back your $80 stake, plus your winnings ($80 x 1.60 x 1.58) = $202.24
You will make a profit of $122.24

  • Treble: This includes three bets and all must win for you to win.

For example, if you place an $80 treble bet on Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool:

Arsenal 1.60 to beat Man City
Chelsea 1.58 to beat Portsmouth
Liverpool 1.40 to beat Manchester

If Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool all win, you get back your $80 stake, plus your winnings ($80 x 1.60 x 1.58 x 1.40) = $283.136.
